Barabbas Road Church in San Diego – Our Mission

The mission of Barabbas Road Church in San Diego is “to make ‘disciple making’ disciples through the personal investment of our lives.” The hope of Barabbas Road Church is for every person who sits in the pews of the church to know and understand the Bible. Disciples are made through the preaching and teaching of the Bible. The Ministries of Barabbas Road Church are all different; however, they all have the same goal which is to make disciples for the glory of God. Sunday’s worship service, Barabbas University and the Small Group ministry are all designed to equip the people of Barabbas Road Church to become disciples and grow as disciples of Christ.

The mission is to not only make disciples but to make ‘disciple making’ disciples. This means that the goal for the people of Barabbas Road Church is for them to take what they have been taught and to teach it to other people. Therefore, each person of Barabbas Road Church is equipped and taught the Word of God, so they are then able to invest their lives into other people, teaching them and showing them the truths of the Bible. The discipleship process is as simple as asking these two questions every day: “Who is pouring into you and who are you pouring into?” By doing this, disciples will continue to be made at Barabbas Road Church and throughout San Diego.

This mission is not just for the people of Barabbas Road Church in San Diego, it is for all people of San Diego. Barabbas Road Church’s hope is for everyone in San Diego to know the God of the Bible. Different religions and different philosophies have their own ideas of who God is. Some of these groups feel as if they have figured God out. Barabbas Road Church hopes to show the people of San Diego who the true God of scripture is. Therefore, the goal is to offer the people of San Diego opportunities to hear the Word of God preached and taught. The goal is not that the people will accept what Barabbas Road is teaching, for that is up to God. The goal is to present people with the truth of the Bible. If people are going to reject this truth then the goal is for Barabbas Road Church to teach and preach the Word of God correctly, so that the people of San Diego at least know who they are rejecting.
